Veteran trader Peter Brandt, widely known as a Market Wizard, published two long-term charts on September 21, projecting XRP toward $5.40 and Ethereum toward $8,600.

Both targets rely purely on classical technical analysis, not fundamentals, on-chain metrics, or short-term catalysts.

What Brandt’s Charts Actually Show

For XRP, Brandt wrote that his long-term chart implies an eventual advance to $5.40. At the time of posting, XRP traded near $1.52, meaning the projection represents a gain exceeding 250% from current levels.

His chart highlights a broad consolidation structure, featuring a descending resistance line from prior cycle highs against an ascending support line from earlier lows.

Hours earlier, Brandt published a similar chart for Ethereum, stating that it implies an eventual move to $8,600 once the $5,000 level is cleared. With ETH trading around $2,731, that target represents substantial theoretical upside, contingent on clearing $5,000 as an intermediate step.

Brandt attached a warning in both posts. He stressed that sharing a chart is not the same as making a trade, and that traders claiming actual positions need to provide verifiable proof rather than relying on social media posts alone.

Why Are XRP and Ethereum Projections Generating So Much Attention?

Real Vision founder Raoul Pal publicly backed that measured stance, praising Brandt’s approach of sharing probabilities and observations rather than making unfounded promises.

These targets carry weight partly because of who is making them. Brandt built his reputation applying classical charting methods, trendlines, support and resistance, and multi-year formations, well before cryptocurrency existed as an asset class.

Supporting market context reinforces the bullish backdrop. Binance recently recorded XRP inflows 663% above the quarterly baseline, though exchange reserves rose only marginally, suggesting repositioning rather than heavy selling pressure. Separately, whale wallets accumulated more than $2 billion worth of XRP in the days before this latest rally.

XRP jumped roughly 5.2% in the last 24 hours, trading above $1.50 as broader market sentiment improved. Bitcoin also reached an eight-month high near $87,329 that same day, lifting sentiment across major cryptocurrencies.

Other analysts have echoed related bullish structures. Some have pointed to Ethereum’s weekly close above $2,550 as opening the door to $2,900 to $3,000, while others have highlighted a broken multi-year downtrend, suggesting that considerably higher targets remain possible over time.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re going to see $ETH rally to $15,000-20,000 this bull cycle. The previous bull cycle has been extremely weak for #Altcoins. This time, it all feels like 2017 again, meaning that the upside is going to be exponentially larger than previous cycles,” crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe said on X.

Whether XRP eventually reaches $5.40 or Ethereum advances to $8,600 remains a long-term technical possibility rather than a guaranteed outcome. As Brandt himself put it, a chart represents an observation about probability, not a promise about price.
