After ending one of its most important weeks of 2026 on a high note, bitcoin and the crypto market are now entering a new potentially impactful week, although the actual economic calendar is notably lighter.

The Kobeissi Letter highlighted several events that could shape broader financial markets over the coming days, and for crypto, three stand out in particular: a barrage of Federal Reserve speakers, Wednesday’s flash PMI data, and Thursday’s scheduled meetings between the presidents of the two largest economies.

Fed Kicks the Week Off

The previous week was very important on the Federal Reserve level, as the US central bank raised interest rates by 25 bps for the first time in over three years. Although the move was expected by most, it still brought some volatility to the crypto market. BTC slipped to $75,000 at first, but the bulls took control of the market and helped the asset end the week at over $80,000.

There’s no FOMC rate decision this week, but the Fed remains in the spotlight, with at least eight policymaker appearances scheduled in the coming days. As usual, investors will look for any hints on how the central bank interprets last week’s rate hike and what would justify another move later this year.

For bitcoin, this matters as the market is still trying to determine whether the September increase was a one-off response to stubborn inflation or the beginning of a broader tightening cycle. Recent Fed projections suggest the central bank expects at least one additional hike in 2026.

PMI, Big Meeting

Wednesday brings the preliminary September S&P Global manufacturing and services PMIs, which will provide one of the earliest indications of how the US economy is performing following last week’s hike. Stronger-than-expected readings could reinforce the argument that the economy can withstand tighter policy, and vice versa.

Thursday could be an even more eventful day from a geopolitical perspective, as US President Donald Trump is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping. Washington and Beijing continue discussions covering trade, investments, export controls, and other long-running points of tension. Markets will be watching for any signs of either de-escalation or renewed friction.
